Happy Christmas~
After creating the “slime soldiers”, I gave them the order to patrol the nearby villages, while Sion and I strolled around the castle. Of course, as loyal as Tian was, he followed closely behind us and told us a bit about our guild’s new home. I was really surprised to see that a lot of the dirt and trash, which had been laying around everywhere in the castle when we arrived for the first time, was mostly gone. As expected of my guild, everyone works fast and thoroughly!
And shameless as I can be sometimes… I didn’t feel even the slightest guilt for not assisting in helping.
On our ‘inspection’ we even discovered a kitchen. Needless to say, Sion instantly called it his new home and already made plans to store his food ingredients here from this day onwards. Moreover, this will also increase the available space in Sion’s bags and bank.
From his happy face and shiny eyes of a man – or should I rather call him a boy right now? – receiving a new toy to play with, I bet he also thought about multiple recipes he’ll try first in his shiny new kitchen.
Seeing how he liked the kitchen so much and in the hopes of being able to eat even more tasty food from now on, at least inside the game, I gladly surrendered the place to him. Shall he have the whole kitchen all for himself! I’ll be the last one to stop him.
Just when I tried imagining the tasty food I’ll be able to eat in the future, I received a short message from my colleague Exelion.
A very short message.
Actually, a single word and a star…
-Coming~★
Of course I wondered what he meant and instantly replied, just to receive another ominous message.
-We’re near your castle! ヾ(〃^∇^)ノ♪
Now I remembered that he told me that he and some people of his guild intended to visit us today. But I never thought they would be this fast.
And why the excited emoticon?
But before I could reply again, I already got a new message.
-Okay, we’re now here. Right at your castle, come and greet us! ೕ(•̀ᴗ•́)
Are you kidding me?! There were only a few seconds between your messages and what’s with the “success” emoticon?! I knew it all along, we don’t have normal people in the company!! Am I the only normal person there?!
And of course the next message didn’t wait for long…
-Keradis picked us up, we’re now moving to your highness’ throne room for sightseeing! Hurry up and sit on the throne and play your demon lord role. Please add some epic villainous lines too! ↑_(ΦwΦ;)Ψ
At first I was speechless and didn’t know how to reply to this message.
But if there is one thing I do know, then it’s that I will definitely not, under any circumstances, never-ever sit on that throne and give them an evil overlord performance!
This would be the peak of embarrassment…
So in the end I only replied with an “if you want, you can play that role, I don’t like role-playing, play alone”.
-How mean, you’re no fun… (;へ:)
Thus, Sion and I ended our own sightseeing tour and hurried straight to the throne room.
I already wondered what classes the guildmaster and his vice are playing, but once I stepped through the door and saw them from afar… no, to be more precise saw a specific line of text over the two characters’ heads, I instantly wanted to retreat as far as possible. And when I say retreat I meant ‘at light speed’, or even better ‘via instant teleportation’!
Sadly, my only way of escape was blocked by Sion and Tian who were walking behind me at this moment.
Of course, the moment we entered everyone’s heads turned towards us and they also spotted the lines over my own character’s head… and…
“DEMON LORD!!!”
…they just had to shout it in synchronisation!
I really felt like crying. How can I be so unlucky?
Not even one, but two hero-class players were standing right beside Keradis and Exelion. Exelion, that traitor, was even waving from far away with an innocent smile on his face.
He knew that I was a demon lord now and for him, a role-player as well as a fellow Hidden GM, there was no way he didn’t know about his guild members’ classes.
No wonder that he wanted me to do an ‘evil demon king’ performance!
I thoroughly felt like an extra large piece of meat in front of a pack of wolves.
With no way to secretly escape, I could only stare helplessly at my guildmaster, Keradis.
He was the one who invited them, so he should be able to protect me somehow…
“Oh, I forgot…”
Keradis, please don’t forget such important matters!
